Japanese Teen Fashion finds

So first image, I just love.  Its so Japanese, its so out there.  Super cute!  The second image is my current research for Alice in wonderland!  Then thirdly, camel.  I love the colour camel.  Especially if it is teamed with navy.  I haven't actually purchased anything in this colour yet, but its on the cards!  Ooooh, a camel cape....lovely! Images courtesy of: http://dulcia-somnia.tumblr.com/post/6099206926

Waddletots

I came across the Waddletots courtesy of http://www.retrotogo.com/.  Quirky Dolls with vintage fabrics, my favourite kinda of combination!  They have a definate 60's illustration look about them.  They are absolutely fabulous.  Unfortunately, they are £145 eah, so a little out of my price range.....but if I could oooh i definately would!!!

They are created by artist and designer Emma Waddleton.  The faces are handpainted and have an individually designed outfit from rare vintage fabrics, accessories and trims that have been carefully sourced and hand picked.
Waddletots are collectable pieces of art which make fabulous gifts and add a gorgeous eclectic touch to your interior.  So now you can appreciate the price!

Take a look at the website for all the characters and where to buy.  Images courtesy of http://www.waddletots.co.uk/

Harajuku Mini Preview

I love Gwen Stefani.  She was a style influence to all us young skate girls back in the day.  I didn't go anywhere without a bindi for years!  I love her sense of experimentation and her hint to the past.  However, there is just something that grates me about her Harajuku Lovers / Harajuku Mini.  Its as though she is the only person who has noticed the Japanese style and therefore, can just copy it, repackage it and sell it to us unassuming westerners.  Its a strange feeling, because it should be something I should love.  But I just can't.

Gwen states, 'Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid's clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices'.  I know you have to promote your product, but quite clearly she hasn't looked very hard.  But a tutu and a graphic tee?  Please.  Gwen take a look at Scandinavian Brands, French Brands, Spanish Brands, British Brands, Australian Brands, Etsy and that is just to mention a few.  There is so much you can get for your kids.  Products that show true individuality and expression.  H&M is truely amazing not only for style, fabrics and detail, but also price.  Furthermore, we all know the Japanese have a great sense of style and fashion.

Playschool record

The lasst few days myself and the girls have been mainly listening to this Playschool record.  We have quite a few old records as my husbands mum kept lots of his childhood toys and things.  He was born in 1972 so its all dated from this year.  The graphics on some of them are fantastic.  I'll post the others some other time.  I love this playschool cover, the colours and graphics are just great.  Its so funny listening to it, there is a real 70's folk influence....brilliant!!!

knuffels a la carte

I came across this amazing online boutique and blog thanks to another great blog http://babyccinokids.com/blog/ they specialise in soft cuddly toys, but with a difference.  All products are cool and quirky, for example Donna Wilsons knitted creatures.  The kind of products Dilly Foxtrot lives for!  Plus the graphics on the website and blog are just as appealing.....I love it!  Check it out for yourselves.

River Island Kids AW11

River Island is one of those shops that can be so hit or miss.  I love the vintage aspect of it, but not a great lover of the, shall we say girl about town range!  I was pretty sceptical about the kids range, but have been pleasantly surprised.  The choice for boys is as good as the girls range too.  Its fashionable, quirky and not too old.  Offering a great range of accessories and footwear too.

Bonpoint - AW11

The first Parisian fashion house for children offering smart, chic and glamourous looks by using subtle colours, beautiful fabrics and perfect cuts.  The girlswear is just gorgeous, so many outfits to choose from.  I love the way they team up outfits with accessories, showing the customer how to wear their seasonal designs.  Slightly quirky, super sophisticated without being conservative or too old.....perfectly French.  Plus they always add knee high socks, which is always a winner in my eyes!!!

Anne Kurris - AW11

Anne Kurris launched her first childrenswear collection in 1998 after a rich career as a graphic designer for large fashion houses.

The Autumn Winter 2011/12 range offers a fun, vibrant colour mix.  A nod to retro styling and animal graphics.  The boys range is as well thought out as the girls and the lookbook photography is pretty cool.
